Facing struggles while accessing new emails in GoDaddy email server account! Constantly wondering why GoDaddy webmail not receiving emails anymore? Looking for a simple and safe approach for the same? Not to worry at all, just follow the write up and you will discover some fixes that will resolve the error and help you receiving the emails again in your GoDaddy email account.

Quick Tip:

Make sure that your internet is perfectly connected. If it is slow or not stable, then it could affect the ability to receive email messages.

Restart your device to check emails. If there is a need to contact GoDaddy guides, then it is suggested to restart your device. If possible, make sure you stay connected and use a different device to contact GoDaddy guides and not the one you are troubleshooting.

Check if the Email is Still Running

If there was an issue with a billing or if email account was deleted then you will not receive email.

  1. Navigate to Email & Office Dashboard.
  2. Check if the email account is listed under Users. You need to scroll down to see Users. If no account is listed, then restore the user or opt for a new plan.

Verify DNS

When someone send a message, your email server will then be identified using a domain name that must be translated into IP address through DNS to deliver a message. Your Mail Exchanger or MX records determine how the domain handles email delivery. If there is a problem with the MX records on DNS, then you will not receive any email.

  1. Go to Email & Office Dashboard.
  2. If you see a banner at the top of the dashboard saying that your email can’t receive mail yet, click Help me fix this and skip the steps from 3 to 5.
  3. Under Users, go to Manage appearing next to email account.
  4. From Setup, select Recheck DNS.
  5. If you encounter any issue with DNS, then update MX records. In order to fix MX records, navigate to Users, click Manage and then choose Set Mail Destination.

Check if you are getting emails but not appearing in desktop email application i.e. Apple Mail

  1. Sign-in to a webmail account. Make use of a Professional email address and password (GoDaddy username and password will not work here).
  2. Check if there are any new messages in Inbox.
  3. If you find any new messages in a webmail but not on a client, then reconfigure your client.

Check if you are discovering new emails but they are only appearing in your client and not Webmail

If you create an email account in an email client using POP settings, then there won’t be copy of email messages on the server. To verify server settings, go through the steps mentioned here for Outlook & Apple Mail.

For Outlook Windows:

  1. Go to Outlook.
  2. Navigate to File, tap Account Settings, and click Account Settings again. A list of email accounts will appear.
  3. Under Type, verify if POP is listed for M365 account.
  4. If it is, then click your Account and then tap Change.
  5. To ensure that the mail is saved to your server, select the checkbox of Leave a copy of messages on the server.

For Outlook for Mac:

  1. Run Outlook.
  2. Go to Preferences, click Accounts and you will list of added accounts.
  3. Choose the desired Professional email account and under email address, check if it says POP Account.

If it shows POP account then make sure that the mail is stored to your server, click the checkbox of Leave a copy of messages on the server.

For Apple Mail:

  1. Open Mail.
  2. Go to Mail, then Settings or Preferences (as per versions) and then click Accounts.
  3. On the left pane, check if POP is listed under Microsoft 365 account.
  4. If it is, choose Account Information.
  5. To ensure if an email is stored on the server, then select the checkbox of Remove copy from server after retrieving a message.

Check with the Sender if there is an Error

If the sender specified your email address incorrectly, then there are chances that the messages will not be delivered. If an error is received after sending a message, then try to resolve it by rechecking the email ID. You may also try the same by sending emails to your email address from a different email account to see if you are getting the same error.

Check if Mails are moving to Spam

  1. Sign in to a Webmail account. Use any of your professional email address and password (GoDaddy credentials will not work here).
  2. Go to the left side of your email account, choose a spam folder.
  3. Choose the messages that are not spam.
  4. Go to the toolbar appearing above the email detail view, select Not spam, then the message will be moved to Inbox.

You can also add trusted senders to allow list.

  1. In your Webmail, go to upper-right corner, navigate to Settings, and click All Settings.
  2. Tap Security.
  3. Mention email addresses using comma-separated list under Always trust mails from the following senders. Messages from these email addresses will not be marked spam.

Check Mailbox Filter Rules

Ensure that you do not have any filters or rules preventing you from receiving email.

  1. Sign-in to a Webmail (Use a professional email account credentials).
  2. Navigate to upper-right corner, tap Settings, and click All Settings.
  3. Select Mail and then go to Filter Rules.
  4. Delete the rules that no longer required.

Check Storage Space

Make sure that your storage space has some space for new emails. To check the same, follow the steps –

  1. Sign-in to a Webmail (enter a professional account credentials).
  2. Go to the left side of email account, go to Mail Quota and check the capacity. If the storage capacity is full, then delete unnecessary emails or upgrade your email plan by selecting Upgrade Storage.
